Art Direction

Did you know I have been building websites most of my life? From 1996 till now. Good web design often goes unnoticed, and maybe thats a good thing.

I not only worked as a creative director, but often I like to get my hands dirty and create some compelling content as a designer and art director too.

The new york times

T Brand Studio

The New York Times launch T Brand Studio - their own internal creative agency.  T Brand Studio produces work to the same standards as the NYTimes and NYT Magazine, so how do you brand an agency that has its own legs to stand on, but reminiscent of these strong brands? Let the work speak for itself.

The site uses tone to echo The New York Times, but puts the content and storytelling up front, allowing the brand to take a back seat.

E-commerce

Analog Devices

This unique company, Analog Devices, requested a new eComerce website to facilitate their large product catalog. This type of site could not be just any old shopping experience, it needed to house a product catalog of over one million micro chips that can be compared to each other at a moments glance.

The engineers who use Analog chips also request lots of product support. Analog has grown to house all the support engineers would need for Analog chips and the chips of Analogs competitors.

China Daily

China Daily came to The Washington Post for consulting help with a new US based site. This site was to appeal to The Washington Post users that have a shared interest in China Daily.  From this, the important of high end photography and a reliance on front and center video became clear.

With a nod to The Washington Post the site takes on a complementary tone, using grey and black to focus the user on content.
